The hearEQ app offers a straightforward solution to this by allowing users to learn the distinct characteristics of each frequency band. For instance, reducing 4kHz creates a more background sound. hearEQ utilizes your preferred songs on your device to generate customized ear training exercises that both educate you about frequency bands and refine your EQ skills. The app incorporates a standard 10-band or 30-band* equalizer, mirroring those found in iTunes and professional sound mixers. You will listen to your chosen song with a simple equalization applied and attempt to identify it:

• If it sounds clear yet slightly hollow, a 1000 Hz cut may have been applied.
• If it sounds muddy, there may be a 500 Hz boost.
• If it sounds overly present and prominent, a 4kHz boost is likely present.
